Two Ft Collins Snow Records Broken, or Established, Depending on your POV

30 Oct 09 - The storm established two new records for Fort Collins, Colorado: biggest single storm snowfall in October, and the snowiest October on record.

"We've never had, in 121 years, this much snow in the month of October in Fort Collins at the weather station," said state climatologist Nolan Doesken. "Our official total, unless it starts snowing again, is 21.6 inches. That makes it the most from any storm in the month of October.

Snowfall ranged from 10 inches on the east side of town to 18 inches on the west, while a weather watcher in Red Feather Lakes reported 27 inches of snow.
