North of Interstate 80 into the Chicago area, 6 to
12 inches of snow are expected, with sleet in some areas to the south.
In Lake and McHenry counties in Illinois and Kenosha County in
Wisconsin, 8 to 14 inches of snow could fall. In areas south of I-80, up to 2 to 5 inches of snow
and sleet may fall along with 1/2 inch of ice – enough to cause damage
to power lines and tree limbs, the National Weather Service reported.
